IT and sys­tem devel­op­ment have tra­di­tion­al­ly been among the core com­pe­ten­cies of the 7Days Group. Our mer­chan­dise man­age­ment sys­tem for press dis­tri­b­u­tion has been one of the lead­ing ERP sys­tems in the indus­try for more than 40 years, enabling us to play a sig­nif­i­cant part in shap­ing the dig­i­tal­iza­tion of our busi­ness process­es and inter­faces at a very ear­ly stage.

 

Process optimization through IT expertise

Soft­ware devel­op­ment is one of the tra­di­tion­al com­po­nents of the 7Days Group ser­vice port­fo­lio. The soft­ware range has been con­tin­u­ous­ly expand­ed and qual­i­fied through the tar­get­ed expan­sion of IT com­pe­ten­cies. This implies the devel­op­ment of dig­i­tal appli­ca­tions such as ana­lyt­i­cal tools, B2C appli­ca­tions and inter­face and por­tal solu­tions – not only for the print-media indus­try, but also for logis­ti­cal areas.

Our IT exper­tise puts us in a posi­tion to opti­mize process­es when nec­es­sary. As a cus­tomer-ori­ent­ed and own­er-man­aged com­pa­ny, we have the nec­es­sary prox­im­i­ty to the mar­ket and to our part­ners to rec­og­nize needs at an ear­ly stage, and to imple­ment them in sus­tain­able solu­tions in direct coor­di­na­tion with the devel­op­ment team. In pur­suit of this aim we were able to devel­op a promis­ing plat­form for the dig­i­tal­iza­tion of press dis­tri­b­u­tion – espe­cial­ly with read-it, our B2C kiosk sys­tem. IT is a deci­sive suc­cess fac­tor in com­pe­ti­tion with oth­er providers in logis­tics busi­ness areas.

 

 

Retail trade app

Our Mar­ket Part­ner Por­tal app for print-media retail­ing (here­inafter referred to as MPP) was launched in 2012.

In the MPP, as with all mar­ket-ori­ent­ed app devel­op­ments, our cus­tomers inter­act syn­chro­nous­ly with our oper­a­tional ERP sys­tem: trans­ac­tions entered by cus­tomers must lead to imme­di­ate bind­ing respons­es on the fly. This state-of-the-art fea­ture should be a must in our indus­try.

But the MPP is only one of sev­er­al apps that we include in our soft­ware. Oth­ers include, for exam­ple, the iPIA for our whole­sale field ser­vice, var­i­ous mobile tools for logis­tics such as an app for track­ing our deliv­ery routes, and espe­cial­ly our read-it app, which we have also adapt­ed for the B2B sec­tor.

 

 

 

Online kiosk for the B2C segment

The read-it dig­i­tal kiosk plat­form, which trans­fers the Spo­ti­fy usage prin­ci­ple to print prod­ucts, was launched on the mar­ket in 2013. It enables any­one to read news­pa­pers and mag­a­zines with reg­u­lar adver­tis­ing free of charge, or to buy a pre­mi­um sub­scrip­tion for an ad-free expe­ri­ence.

Aimed in par­tic­u­lar at the young and dig­i­tal­ly savvy, read-it is to be under­stood as com­ple­ment­ing exist­ing and estab­lished print prod­ucts in the retail trade.
